Affected
employee: Any person whose job requires him/her to
operate or use a machine or equipment on which service or maintenance is to be
performed under lockout or tagout, or whose job requires him/her to work in an
area in which such service or maintenance is being performed.
Authorized employee:Any
person who performs lockout and tagout of machines or equipment to
perform
service or
maintenance. An
affected employee becomes an authorized employee
when his/her duties include performing service or maintenance
activities
covered under
the Lockout and Tagout Program, and when
he/she has completed the
training requirements for this program.
